(Updated January 27, 2010)

At the moment, the Gypsies are open to all players who wish to join our guild, if they ask nicely.

Also, any Gypsies member can invite other players to join the guild with the command: /ginvite
(This has been changed so that only Officers and the GM can invite new members, for the time being, following a large explosion in growth.)

At the high-level end of the guild, there is currently a demand for geared and experienced tanks and healers.

The guild ranks are as follows:

  • Guild Master: Trymnam
  • Officer: Trusted cohorts tasked with daily guild management on Trymnam's behalf.
  • Raid Leader: Plans and coordinates weekly raids, must qualify for Raid Rank 1.
  • Veteran: Long-standing guild members who have shown commitment to the building and health of the guild, as well as retired officers.
  • Raid Rank 1: Players who are interested in progression raiding can apply for Raid Rank 1. Details on the requirements for this rank can be found here.
  • Raid Rank 2: Players who are interested in raiding but don't yet qualify for Raid Rank 1 can apply for Raid Rank 2. Details on the requirements for this rank can be found here.
  • Casual / Member: This rank is for levelling guild members, as well as social players or those who otherwise aren't raid focused.
  • Alt: Short for Alternate, the Alt rank is for secondary characters of Gypsies members. An Alt may apply for a Raiding rank, and a player may also request to switch their main/alt characters, although excessive switching is discouraged.
  • Initiate: This rank is for new guild members who are allowed limited access to the guild bank. This access (as are all guild bank transactions) is monitored, and guild bank abuse will result in a demotion. New players will be Initiates for a minimum of one week before promotion, and are expected to read the Gypsies policies before promotion.
  • Probie: This rank is for guild members who are not allowed any guild bank access. It is a demotion rank for players who have broken guild policies not serious enough for guild removal. This is usually a holding place until discussions have taken place to resolve the matter.

Thank you for the descriptions of the guild ranks - it is very helpful for new players (such as myself!) to see what the ranks are and what they mean.

Skel, do you think you can start putting what builds people are on their toons? it gets confusing when you are trying to find a certain build for a heroic or raid.

Yup, we're putting builds in their comments in-game, particularily for the classes that can potentially heal/tank.

Also, aside from the Armory, you can look up builds in the roster on this website.

Initial post has been updated for clarity.  In the unlikely event that something conflicts with Trymnam's post, her post takes priority.

Question on this:

Alt: All alts of players. Side note: and "alt" can apply to a raiding rank and have same privillage as a regular non alt toon. A player can switch main/alt by request if a toon becomes their interest. excessive switching will be addressed, min. one month between switching status of toons between ranks. Very limited GB access tabs 1-3. No repair tab.

If I request an Alt to be RR2, does that mean I am also requesting my main/alt to be switched?

If the alt is geared for RR2, then it can apply to be RR2. It doesn't have to become your main. The switching between mains and alts is a different footnote about alts.

Please be aware that Raid ranks will be changing their quailification criteria within the next few weeks. This change is being created to keep up with the content expansion. This may result in some currently ranked players being deranked if they have not kept up their characters. Ofcourse ranks can be reapplied for once the toon meets elligability.

Where is the raid application at?

At the moment, a player would typically talk to Trymnam or another officer to ask for a raid rank. However, with the release of Icecrown Citadel, we're going to clean house and reset raid ranks soon. So, stay tuned, we should have something posted within a week.
