Third party addons help enhance the World of Warcraft experience, and there are many from which to choose. The following list of addons are those that were hand picked to help us succeed when we raid. You can click the link to go to the addon's website to download and manually install it, or you can click on the Curse Link to automatically install it if you use the Curse Client (for PC or Mac). Make sure that World of Warcraft is not running when you install addons, whether you're doing it manually or via the Curse client.
The Curse Client can be found here, and it is strongly suggested that you do not try to otherwise find it via Google search, as some results will direct you to a fake client that will install a keylogger in order to hack your account.
The following addons are mandatory for Gypsies raiding:
  |
Deadly Boss Mods
Shows timers and warnings for boss fights to help you better understand and react to the fights. |
 |
Mumble Chat Client
Allows you to hear the raid leader and hear instructions for the raid.
Once you have Mumble installed, verify that it's set up for Push-to-talk (and not set to transmit on Voice Activity). Also, if you're a Gypsies guild member, enter the access token (Server -> Access Tokens) that can be found in our Guild Info panel in game. This allows you to enter our guild raid channels.
We strongly advise that you use a good headset for chat:
- This helps people hear you clearly.
- It reduces or eliminates background echo when two people are talking at the same time.

The following addons are not mandatory, but are nice to have for raiding:
 |
HudMap
This addon provides a top-down view of the raid and indicates zones to avoid during boss fights. This addon may be added to the mandatory list in the future. |
 |
Omen Threat Meter
Mainly for damage dealing classes, this addon will let you know how much threat you have on a target compared to the tank. |
 |
Recount Damage Meter
Shows you how you're performing in the raid compared to other players. Includes damage done, healing done, dispells, deaths, and more. Note that many boss fights require coordinated movement, and getting tunnel vision about doing the most damage will often lead to failure. Still, a good tool to have. |
Finally, Raid Frames are a great way to see the overall status of the raid at a glance without taking up too much screen real estate:
 |
X-Perl UnitFrames
X-Perl is a popular raid frame addon that is very configurable. It is modular so that you can use certain modules while ignoring others (for example, Skelnik uses the party and raid frames modules, but doesn't use the self, target, or buff frames). It can be configured to show debuffs that you can remove, show health normally or just show missing health (for healers), and fade out raid members that aren't in your range. It also shows members who are dead, AFK, or offline, and has an optional window to show the assigned tanks, their targets, and their targets' targets. |
 |
Grid
Grid is a popular alternative to X-Perl. The compact grid of units lets you select a group member quickly, while retaining a good overview of the whole group. It displays as much information as possible without overloading the user. It allows you to customize what information you see, and how that information is displayed. It supports pets and vehicles. It is also modular, making it easy to add new features through plugins. |
 |
Clique
Clique is a simple GUI that lets you assign click-casting for any number of unit frames such as X-Perl or Grid, above. Click casting allows you to define the behavior the game takes when you click on a frame. This can be casting spells, running a macro, using an item, or something as simple as changing targets or assisting a unit. It allows you to assign common spells to various mouse buttons, so when you click on a player's raid frame with the assigned button, you will cast that spell on that player. This is much faster than having to select the player and then cast the spell, and this addon is highly recommended for raid healers and dispellers. |
