The Gypsies are an online gaming guild geared toward having fun, making friends, and otherwise getting full enjoyment out of the World of Warcraft. We're young but quickly growing, and we approach the game with a helpful and playful attitude. You can find us on the US Terokkar server, on the Alliance side.
Why join the Gypsies?
- We help each other out doing quests, instances, and raids. (Don't expect us to carry you, though!)
- We are a progression raiding guild, but we won't forget that the game is played to have fun.
- We don't enforce any player builds, although we can offer advice on how to fine tune yours.
- You get a free guild Tabard.
- Mumble voice chat available for Dungeons and Raids.
- We're just a little kooky, and we bet you'll fit right in.
- Need something crafted? Need an enchant? Any guild member will do it for you with your mats, no tip required.
- Lockboxes opened for free! Mail them to Skelnik, and he'll mail them back unlocked.
- We do our best to keep drama at a minimum.
We raid 25-player content Tuesday and Wednesday, 7 to 10 pm server time (CST). We also have a few 10-player raid groups at other times, such as the weekday 10-Midnight group, the Thursday-Friday 7-10pm groups, and the weekend groups.
We are currently looking for Ranged DPS and Healers for our 25-player raid, and similar roles for some of the 10-player raids.
Of course, being a Gypsy comes with some responsibilities, as well. You're expected to pitch in and help out your fellow guildies, and otherwise be a positive part of the team. It's not that difficult, though, and contributions get noticed and rewarded!
If you're interested in joining the Gypsies, please fill out our Guild Membership Application form.

 | Change Leadership - February-02-12
The final test of a leader is that he leaves behind him in other men, the conviction and the will to carry on.
Walter Lippman
For the past 5 years I have had the privilege of leading one of the finest guilds that includes so many excellent people. I’ve exulted in our victories and commiserated in the events with challenged us. I admit, I’ve even shed a tear now and again for happy and sad reasons alike.
However lately something has changed for me (and it’s not just having a baby about). I’ve found myself not as driven to manage the guild and not as interested in general game play. Maybe it’s a lack of interest in the expansion or the introduction of other interests in life but I find that right now I don’t have the commitment that the guild deserves and that you as my guild members deserve.
So, after wrestling with this feeling for some time now I think that the best thing for me to do is hand the reigns of Guild Master over.
Skelnik has agreed to take over as your guild leader and I will remain on as an officer at this time. Overall you as a guild member will not notice much of a change in things. What we have decided is to keep the 10 mans running as they are and to help facilitate any new 10 man groups that want to get started. In addition, rank 1 and 2 currently have no bearing in the guild as they were meant to help distribute loot fairly within 25 man raiding. So, while for the time being we will leave people where they are with those ranks you may see something change with those in the future to provide recognition to guild members in a more meaningful way with the game as it is now. We are also going to move away from the more formal recruitment process which we had in place to screen for raiding players. We are now going to be more open to the more casual or social player.
Thanks everyone, keep being awesome :D

 | Mumble Upgrade - January-15-12
For those guild members using the Mumble Client for Windows, the client's security certificate has expired. Because of this, when starting Mumble you may get an error message saying A referral was returned by the server.
To correct this issue, you will need to uninstall Mumble and then install the latest version (1.2.3a as of this post) in order to use a client with an up-to-date security certificate.
You can find where to download Mumble and how to install it on this page in the Gypsies forums.
Not that uninstalling the old version and reinstalling the new version will not change your Mumble settings, so you will have the same server, hotkey, overlay, and username as before.

 | Patch 4.3 is around the corner - November-24-11
...and you can be certain that we'll be showing Deathwing who's boss.
With the Looking For Raid system being introduced, we'll have a new tool available to learn the new raid fights (at least, the easy-mode version of the fights), and it's a great new way to build up your gear for progression raiding nights. Running the new Dragon Soul raid in LFR will not get you saved to the raid, so you'll still be free to run the Normal (and eventually Heroic) raid with the guild on scheduled raid nights.
At the moment we're running about four to five different 10-player raid groups, most of which have cleared Firelands and are working on Heroic Firelands content.
The Tuesday / Wednesday group has been trying to get back into 25-player raiding, but with changing schedules and the migration of skilled raiders into different 10-player groups, at this time we'd like to announce that the Tuesday / Wednesday group will run as a 10-player group for the foreseeable future. With 10-player and 25-player raids sharing the same lockout system, it's not presently possible to get everyone back into a 25-player raid and still leave them available to run their own 10-player groups.
On the recruitment front, we're open for healers and ranged DPS for raiding, with perhaps some desire for substitute tanks. Unfortunately because of the mechanics of Firelands bosses (I'm looking at you, Beth'tilac!) we do have more melee DPS raiders than we have spots for. Hopefully Dragon Soul mechanics will allow running raids with more melee and less ranged, but at the moment we don't need any more melee DPS raiders.
Gypsies is also finding a strong foothold and having success in the new Rated Battleground PvP system, with a couple regular groups running RBG's every week. This is something we'd like to expand upon, because the fluid nature of RBG's and the lack of lockouts means there's more room available for players who enjoy PvP.
